Program. Bob Nicks, a veteran of AFD and President of the Austin Firefighters Association maintains contact with the City Council urging them to make fuel load management and development of a Wildfire Division within AFD a priority. East Texas Residents Need to Become Aware of Program That Teaches Wildfire Preparation Texas was selected to assist in the development of a program called “Ready, Set, Go!” as a tool fire departments can use to educate residents on wildfire preparation and personal action. “Bruce Woods, prevention and mitigation department head for the Texas Forest Service, hoped the use of programs continues to grow to allow Texans to be as prepared as possible….”
